Christopher Craig Gaines
All about Gaines
Christopher was raised primarily in Monterey Bay, CA. He participated in wrestling and football in high school and majored in Human Biology at Stanford University (B.A. 2005). While at Stanford, Christopher tried his hand at a number of different skills, each of which has played an instrumental role in the manner that he approaches fitness today. He was a member and captain of the Stanford Rugby Club and also a member of the 2002 Stanford Football Team.
While in school, Christopher interned at the Riekes Center for Human Enhancement in Menlo Park and learned of the simple, yet complex foundation of creating a sport-specific program.
After graduation, Christopher moved to Colorado, and studied to take the CSCS exam while acquiring his first personal training position. He wound up moving back out to California in Spring 2006 to pursue an opportunity to help discover and develop youth sport-specific skills.
After Summer 2006, Christopher began assisting Jonathan Griffin, who is the Director of Rugby at Stanford University, and learning under his tutelage. Christopher also began working at Equinox Fitness as a Personal Trainer where he is still employed, only now as the Personal Training Manager.
In February of 2009, Christopher officially began developing the ideas and concepts comprising PerformanceGaines Training Systems.
Christopher enjoys relaxing with friends, swinging kettlebells, cycling in the hills, cooking and eating good food.
